Indiana zoning laws

I've been keeping an eye on local news.  The next county over has been putting out some questionable zoning laws.  A lot of what has traditionally been farm land is being rezoned to be residential and commercial.

This is not good.  America needs farm land.  We import too much of our food supply. And, what we don't import, is shipped half-way across the country!  If we use our local farm land for farming food that would otherwise be shipped in, we'd be in a much better situation as a country.

Speaking of the situation of the country... With tariffs incoming, our already ridiculous grocery prices are going to get worse.  How to combat that?  Victory Gardens!  Why did that ever go out of vogue, anyway? No, you can't grow candy bars and soda pop.  Maybe that's why people don't garden much anymore.

Junk food and the "grocery store" mentality have spoiled us.  We prefer sweet and salty treats over fresh, ripe fruits and vegetables.  We want to go to the store in January and get "fresh" (those aren't fresh!) tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, etc.  For most of history, people ate foods in season or preserved foods for the seasons in which fresh was unavailable.

I'm not calling anyone out.  I'm still learning myself.  It's a process.  Unfortunately, if we don't learn it on our own I'm afraid it will be forced on us, either through food shortages, high prices, or something else.

With that said, I want to share a video I watched yesterday.  We need to be vigilant as Americans and as Hoosiers.  This video is relevant to everyone, not just Indiana.
