An Introduction...

Hello! My name is Sarah. I'm wife to Danny and mom of many children, teens to toddlers, whom we homeschool. We live on a small farm with a couple nice size gardens and a few chickens. Okay, more than a few chickens! I would love to grow our little farm more with rabbits, maybe goats, a cow, sheep... You get the idea. When I was a child, I dreamed of marrying, having lots of children, and living on a farm. Now, many years later, I have those things, but along the way I forgot how to dream (remember the doll in Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer?). I thought that I'll just have to wait until the children are all grown before I can "dream" again. But, why do I have to wait? It's a new year, with new possibilities. I'm ready to dream again! Happy New Year 2025!

Because of my husband's work schedule, we had to put off having our New Year party until this week. The plan was to have it yesterday (Monday), but instead we had a "snow day". Where we live, we don't get snow every winter, so the children have to go out and play in it when we get a decent amount. We definitely have snow right now! I'll write about that adventure in the next post. Back to the party! Last night, since we'd been outside in the snow, I didn't have time to get all the party food ready. I usually make things from scratch, so I need to be inside to do that. Instead, I fixed BBQ smokies, "blanket dogs", and pizza for supper. Our 10 year old made his "famous ranch dip". He also helped with wrapping smokies in pizza dough for the blanket dogs. For dessert, I also made chocolate chip cookies. I did get fudge made for the party the next day. A Quick Snack

Here's a quick snack I make almost everyday. -Graham cracker, broken in two -Peanut butter, spread not too thick or thin -Chocolate chips, as many as you like Is it healthy??? Well, it depends on your perspective. Graham crackers are made with whole wheat which has fiber and protein. Peanut butter has protein. Chocolate has antioxidants and, as a friend pointed out, it's a bean. Sure, you could look at the fat, sugar, and preservatives (none of the ingredients are homemade). But, I prefer to look at the good in the snack. After all, having a positive attitude is healthy too! 😉 Enjoy!
